Allison Offshore Services is currently seeking a Structural Welder,who will be responsible for the fabrication and welding of structural equipment. The Structural Welder will perform welds to metal components, read and interpret blue drawings and operate machinery to verify repairs. A majority of these duties will be performed offshore in various weather conditions at different elevations. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lay out, position, align and secure parts for welding
  • Set up and operate hand and power tools common to welding trade
  • Weld together metal components of products, such as pipelines, as specified by layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work order, welding procedures or oral instructions, using arc welding equipment
  • Weld components in flat, vertical and overhead positions
  • Participate in JSA’s and all other Safety, Health and Environmental Processes
  • Other duties as assigned 

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to read structural drawings
  • Prior Structural Fabrication experience is required
  • Must be able to weld components in horizontal rolled position (1G); horizontal fixed position (5G); pipe inclined fixed (6G); and vertical position (2G)
  • Prior offshore experience is preferred
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of US currency, weight, measurement, volume and distance
  • General Knowledge of offshore construction and salvage operations
  • Knowledge of all equipment and tools necessary to perform duties required of a structural welder
  • Ability to work in and maintain a safe work environment

Education & Experience:

  • High school Diploma or G.E.D is preferred
  • 2-3 years relevant industry experience required
  • Prior Structural Welding experience required

Candidates will be required to pass:

  • Pipe Welder Test
