The Rigger reports directly to the shift leaderman. This person will perform general labor work such as loading and un-loading barges, handling pipe, and hooking up slings and shackles. This position is the most strenuous physical job within this facility. The Rigger is responsible for working in conjunction with the crane operator and welder using cables and slings to move and relocate structural materials. They are also required to perform general labor work such as loading and unloading material trucks and barges. It is also necessary that they do frequent climbing and working from heights. Another requirement is to put up scaffolding as well as dismantling of scaffolding when the job is finished. The job may at times require the Riggers to work exceedingly long hours when a structure is being loaded onto a barge to be taken offshore. They will also be used as a Fire Watch when needed. The schedule is 28 days on and 14 days off Minimum 12 hour shifts.
