We are seeking a Mechanic to join our team in Lafayette, LA.


Summary

The ideal Mechanic will have 3-5 years of experience and repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, transmissions, power packs, hydraulic pumps and other equipment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Dismantling and assembling of equipment, running hydraulic hoses, electrical wiring, changing out parts on engines and transmissions, etc.
  • Will be troubleshooting and repairing transmissions on offshore skid units, diesel engines, faulty hydraulic pumps, hydraulic power packs, and other oilfield service equipment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Best candidates will have 3-5 years experience working as a mechanic
  • Understanding of DDEC is preferred
  • Experience with Detrot Diesel 149, 60 and 4000 series strongly prefered
  • Experience with Allison Transmission series HT-750 and 9800 strongly prefered
  • Hydraulic knowledge of closed and open loop
  • Must be capable of performing minor tune ups, repairing miscellaneous/auxiliary equipment, and troubleshooting and determining necessary repairs
  • Must be proficient in performing visual checks for leaks, repair potential leaks, prevent spills, troubleshoot transmissions/cooling systems/air brake systems
  • Must be capable of how to crank up engine and perform minor repairs
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance
  • Basic computer skills is required
  • Candidate must have a valid driver’s license

Education

  • High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is preferred
  • Diploma from Mechanic, Hydraulic, Engine or Transmission schools is preferred
